Bio

For most of my life I have lived in central Maryland. I began to draw in childhood like a lot of artists using self-taught skills. Later I received a more formal education at the Pennsylvania State University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrative Arts(2002). I recently finished my studies towards a Masters of Fine Art degree in Illustration at the Savannah College of Art & Design (March 2007).Currently, I work as a freelance illustrator and fine artist in central Maryland.

I draw inspiration from artists like Frida Kahlo, Craig Mullins, Ralph Steadman, and Aaron Douglas. I find that music, film, and the theatre overwhelmingly influence my work. Some of my favorite plays are Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Henry V, and 12 Angry Men. Some of my favorite films are The Dark Crystal, Waking Life, The Sixth Sense, and The Hudsucker Proxy. Any song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, or Green Day is gold. Any song by Stevie Wonder, U2, or Earth, Wind, & Fire is platinum.

About my work

My style of drawing is rough and sketchy. I finish each drawing digitally using either Photoshop, Painter, or a combination of the two. I also use photography in my work.
