"Goosynch" your Windows Mobile Device

Goosync, and the people who brought you Google & GMail, has reached a point where the average office can be connected essentially for free, using the Google add-on GOOSYNC which enables the user to login to a GMail account, and utilising the Goosync process, the following bits of brilliance:

  • Back up the phone contacts.
  • Back up events and syncronise calendars.
  • Update the office with new appointments from the phone.
  • Get new Contacts from the office.

All that is required is a Windows Mobile based Handheld PC, a GMail account which is free, and the calendar on Gmail to be enabled and in use.

For those using a corporate domain-based email, gmail can be set up to manage it quite simply using "Google Apps", thus enabling your office over the internet, for around $50 per year, with no licence fees etc., and no need for cables or to be physically in the office.

Goosync has a free limited version, or a paid version for GBP19.95 per year. Well worth the effort and the small outlay. Their online support is also very good, and a huge improvement on a couple of others we have tested and rejected.
